Abigail Guptill is a well-versed dancer, singer, and actress. She likes to think of herself as a "true triple threat". First a dancer, training in ballet, tap, jazz, modern, and hip hop, Abigail has previously studied at world-renowned conservatories such as the University of North Carolina School of the Arts with Beatrice Capote and Casey Noblett and Point Park University working closely with artists like Keisha Lalama and Mark Burrell. Abigail has been singing her whole life but began professional training in her teen years, studying musical theatre with Leanna Polk Bodnar and training classically with Elyse Matthews. In the spring of 2022, Abigail completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Musical Theatre with a minor in dance from Jacksonville University, a small liberal arts school located in the heart of North Florida. Just after college, she was successful in breaking into the industry with RWS Global as an on-site performer in multiple locations up and down the East Coast. She is proud to say that she currently resides in New York City where she gets to 'be a part of it' and have the opportunity to explore her other personal interests and hobbies such as writing, guitar, and dog watching at Central Park of course!
Most of Abigail’s musical theatre endeavors are high- energy shows with dazzling dance breaks. Abigail is an experienced dance captain and her favorite roles include ensemble and dance captain in West Side Story (Velma), Beauty and the Beast (Silly Girl), and All Shook Up. One of her favorite actor/singer roles was in an outrageously funny yet touching show "A...My Name Will Always be Alice". In this show, one of the many roles she played was the highly delusional German "French" girl who sings an entire dramatic song in French thinking she is lamenting her woes of love and womanhood upon the audience when really she's just saying a selection of random French words! She had the audience rolling every night, (but only the ones who knew a little French!).
With being a highly skilled performer comes teaching the youth. Abigail has had many teaching and choreography opportunities as well. Previous experience prepared her for more professional endeavors elsewhere. If she had to choose, Abigail's proudest teaching moments were when she was a dance and theatre instructor for Lavilla School of the Arts in 2019 where she worked alongside other artists to teach children a full-scale performance in only 3 days. As a team lead, she facilitated and coordinated every moving part of a production from props to managing the young excited actors, all while maintaining a safe, fun, and encouraging environment for young artists of every age. As an educator, Abigail believes that every child should have the opportunity and exposure to all types of theatre and explore their artistic values, as it added such value and purpose to her own life.
Abigail Guptill values her gifts in talents and her life objective is to be able to tell a story with her abilities and to spread love, passion and kindness through of of the most beautiful things this world inhabits, live theatre.
